Here at Advance Electrical Agency, we are selective in the lines we represent. We want to be associated with the best in the industry, the kind of manufacturers who have a quality product with fair pricing; manufacturers who stand behind their product and meet the delivery dates they promised. Some of the lines we partner with are well established and well known in the industry. Others are newer, with an innovative offering not seen elsewhere. All meet CSA or CUL standards. We stand behind these companies because they have proven to be effective in helping our customers with their projects, with the correct material supplied on time, on budget.
Advance Electrical Agency was started in 1997 by Norm Gibson, based out of Saskatoon. In 2001 Darren Churchwell joined Advance, and then purchased the company in March of 2002, as Norm settled into retirement.
In 2008, we moved the Saskatoon office to a larger location.
President
Darren Churchwell
Darren is the president and owner of Advance Electrical Agency. Born and raised in Saskatchewan. He started in the electrical industry in 1980, working at a Saskatoon wholesaler. Prior to joining Advance, Darren worked at various Saskatoon wholesalers until 1990 when he started working as a direct factory representative for a major Canadian electrical equipment manufacturer. After 10 years traveling the province for them, he joined up with Norm Gibson and Advance.
Principal
Bob Fiesel
Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Bob has been in the electrical industry since 1989. In 2017, he merged TMC Sales Saskatchewan into Advance Electrical Agency. Previous to this he spent 8 years as a branch manager with a multinational electrical distributor, and 4 years of sales with a major electrical manufacturer. Over these years, he has created and maintained strong relationships in the distribution, manufacturing, contractor, specification engineers and end users networks.
Sales - Northern Sask
Jay Churchwell
Born and raised in Saskatoon Saskatchewan, Jay has been in the electrical industry since 2010. In 2017, he obtained his red seal journeyman certificate. Previous to this he spent 5 years as a constructions electrician in a mostly commercial and institutional environment and 2 years of inside sales with Advance Electrical Agency. Over this time he has developed and maintained strong relationships within the construction industry.

Jacob Fiesel
Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Jacob has been in the electrical industry since 2013. Jacob started from the ground with multinational electrical distributors in both Regina & Saskatoon. Over this time he has developed and maintained strong relationships within the industry.
Sales - Manitoba
Troy Mask
Troy joined Advance Electrical Agency in July 2022. He is a part of the Outside Sales team calling on Electrical Distributor’s, Consulting Engineers and End User’s in the Manitoba Territory. He previously worked 6 years for a different electrical agency, based in Winnipeg. In his free time, Troy enjoys playing golf, travelling & spending time with his wife Shannon.
